Hi! I’m Kristen. I come from a long line of quilters but just got a later start in my craft, as an adult. I think of quilting as a journey with no end point. I’m learning as I go. I make modern, heirloom quality quilts and love hand quilting, even though it takes time. I believe that every quilt is special, unique and meaningful, even if imperfect. Quilts can be all of the above, at once.

As far back as I can remember, I was around sewing machines, quilts, and embroidery. My grandmother was a master of all things sewing. She learned from her mother, my great-grandmother, and then exposed me to the craft of sewing as far back as I remember. That said, I didn’t really pick it up until many many years later, as an adult and unfortunately, after my grandmother had passed. Tradition is an integral part of my journey. My grandmother made quilts for both of my daughters when they were born and they are such a special part of our home. When covid hit, a close family member was pregnant and due in the midst of lockdown. With my grandmother no longer with us, I ached over the fact that she wouldn’t be able to gift them a baby quilt and I promised myself that I would teach myself how to quilt and no matter how long it took me, I’d make our family’s sweet new baby a quilt in my grandmother’s honor. I did just that and have never looked back.

Each quilt I’ve made has had love, care, concern, and blessings integrated into every stitch. I am not an expert, and my quilts are not perfect, but I am learning as I go, and I recognize their beauty and heirloom quality. Follow me as I share my journey, the successes and the mistakes. We can learn and grow together, and share beautiful heartfelt things along the way.
